A while back I posted an article about the dangers to the equal-access Internet of today that we know and love. Thanks to my friend Stephanie, I have some more info for you on the topic... and sadly, it's not looking particularly great. Alas, the idea of Net Neutrality has been shut down by the House. Is this getting much coverage in the States?

Well, I don't have television or anything, but I'm pretty sure it's getting zero coverage here. People only complain about stuff once it happens to them.
Grrrr.... I kind of figured as much. I sent an email to my Rep about this before the vote. I should follow up and see what his decision was.... Blah.
Clicking on the link will take you to a description of the amendment. Clicking on Roll no. 239 (bottom right of that page) will show you who voted yes or no.
My rep voted no, unfortunately.
I don't have tv, so don't know how much noise there has been about the issue. I suspect not much. NPR has had some coverage. Still, given the potential consequences, the seeming lack of popular interested is strange.
But then, this is the country that has voted the Bush administration into power twice.
Arrgh... the bastard! Mine didn't vote!
There was a good article about it in the Washington Post about two days ago, so it is getting some coverage.
What I meant was the Wall Street Journal. I just read my post and realized that I'm crazy. It's really hot here and it's getting to my head.
Blah.... "article available only to subscribers" - so much for spreading publicity....
